RFMW, Ltd. (San Jose, CA) has announced design and sales support for three new TriQuint 100 W power limiters for L, S, and C-band RADAR. These MMIC GaAs VPIN limiters protect sensitive receivers from high power incident signals. They do not require DC bias and integrated DC blocks on the RF output reduce circuit design complexity with simple integration. A protective surface passivation layer provides environmental robustness and is suited for both commercial and defense applications. 

Specifications for the three new power limiters include:

TGL2205:

  • Frequency of 1-6 GHz.
  • PIN Handling of 50 dB.
  • Insertion loss of <0.5 dB.
  • Flat leakage of <16 dBm.
  • Return loss of 12 dB.
  • Package size of 2 x 2 x 0.1 mm.

TGL2205:

  • Frequency of 2-4.5 GHz.
  • PIN Handling of 70 dB.
  • Insertion loss of <0.5 dB.
  • Flat leakage of <15 dBm.
  • Return loss of 15 dB.
  • Package size of 2.2 x 2.5 x 0.1 mm.

TGL2205:

  • Frequency of 2-5 GHz.
  • PIN Handling of 70 dB.
  • Insertion loss of <0.5 dB.
  • Flat leakage of <16 dBm.
  • Return loss of 15 dB.
  • Package size of 2 x 2.5 x 0.1 mm.
