Omron Electronic Components LLC announces the availability of the D6BN series of micro tilt sensors for detecting mechanical vertical versus horizontal positioning. With a low profile of 2 mm in a gull-wing SMD package, the D6BN sensors measure 7 W × 7 D mm. They consume 1 mA at 2.4 to 3.6 VDC when operating and 1µA in standby mode. Through the utilization of Hall Effect technology (versus metal ball or mercury styles) these devices detect tilting over a range of 40° to 80° in right or left inclinations. They are stable with a shock resistance of 75 G, virtually eliminating false positive readings. The D6BN operates in a temperature range of 㪢 to +60°C in 25 to 85% humidity, barring any icing or condensation.
