White Electronic Designs Corporation announces its 1 GB DDR SDRAM, unbuffered, FBGA based module. WEDC is offering this 2 × 64 M × 72 Double Data Rate (DDR) synchronous DRAM memory module based on 512 Mb DDR SDRAM components. The device consists of eighteen 64 M × 8 DDR SDRAMs in a Fine Ball Grid Array (FBGA) package mounted on a 200-pin FR4 substrate. Benefits include: synchronous design that allows precise cycle control with the use of system clock; data I/O transactions are possible on both edges and programmable burst lengths (2, 4, 8) allow the same device to be useful for a variety of high bandwidth, high performance memory system applications. The 1 GB DDR SDRAM (part number W3EG264M72EFSUxxxD4) features fast data transfer rates of PC-2100, PC-2700 and PC3200 and clock speeds of 133, 166 and 200 MHz. It supports ECC error detection and correction, bi-directional data strobes (DQS) and serial presence detect (SPD) with EEPROM. The device utilizes a JEDEC standard 200-pin, small-outline, SO-DIMM package.
