RF Micro Devices announces the RF3305 high linearity amplifier for use in wireless infrastructure applications. The RF3305 is designed to meet industry specific reliability and thermal requirements to exceed life tests of wireless infrastructure applications. The device is packaged in a 3 × 3 mm QFN package. As a pre-driver for the transmit chain, the RF3305 is suited for use in CDMA and WCDMA applications which require high linearity and low noise figure over a range of 300 MHz to 3000 MHz. The RF3305 operates from a single 5.0 V power supply with a 40 dBm output IP3. The amplifier exhibits 12.5 dB gain, 23 dBm output power, and 3 dB noise figure with an operating current range of 150 mA. The RF3305 is thermally reliable with an 88°C/W Theta JC and a mean time to failure of 542 years.
