Boonton Electronics' 4400/4500 Series peak power meters offer an option enabling the instrument to trigger on events, as well as time. This allows a user-selected pulse to be captured, even when its timing is variable. The 4400A is for viewing and analyzing RF power in the time domain. Fast display updates and GPIB measurements save time and gather information fast. The PC-compatible 1.44-MB floppy drive can store data such as front panel setups and trace waveforms. Model 4500A is designed for analyzing RF signals with digital modulation, multiple carriers or complex coding techniques. Along with the time-domain measurements of 4400A, Model 4500A adds statistical measurements that are made on a continuously sampled RF signal.
