The Honeywell Solid State Electronics Center (SSEC), in conjunction with worldwide distributor Richardson Electronics introduced the HRF-AT4000 family of high performance attenuators. Manufactured using Honeywell's Silicon On Insulator CMOS technology, they offer both serial and parallel interface architectures. In addition to architecture latitude, the HRF-AT4000 series 5- and 6-bit attenuators are available in 4 mm × 4 mm (16-pin LPCC™ surface mounted) packages to enable applications requiring high accuracy, speed and extremely low power consumption such as cellular basestations and handset products.

The Honeywell SOI CMOS based attenuators operate on a single positive supply voltage and have high isolation resistance. Additional SOI benefits include a unique combination of integrated CMOS control logic and ESD protection, and a frequency range of DC to 4 GHz.
