The PA97 is a cost-effective hybrid solution for high voltage instrumentation where higher per unit costs have been a barrier in the past. The PA97's key features include a ± 50 V to ± 450 V supply (100 V to 900 V total supply) and a very low 600 μA of standby current. External compensation allows flexibility in choosing bandwidth and slew rate based on the application. The PA97's Power SIP design reduces board space requirements and features a staggered pin configuration to accommodate the high voltage capability.
Board space requirements for the PA97's Power SIP design measures roughly one inch. The package's flat back design and isolated case allows for direct mounting, and internal power dissipation is so minimal that heat sinking is not a likely requirement. An evaluation kit the EK19 is available for easy prototyping.
Applications for the PA97 operational amplifiers include mass spectrometers, scanning coils, high voltage instrumentation, programmable power supplies up to 880 V and semiconductor measurement equipment.
