Connor Winfield introduces the STC3500 stand alone chip for Stratum 3 Telecom applications. The STC3800 is an integrated single chip solution for the synchronous timing source in SONET/SDH network elements. The STC3800 supports Master/Slave operation and can operate in Free Run, locked or Hole Over mode. Features of the STC3800 include: accepts 8 reference inputs and one cross reference each from 8 kHz to 77.76 MHz; continuous input reference quality monitoring; four output signals: Sync_Clk up to 155.52 MHz, Sync_8K at 8 kHz, Sync_2K fixed at 2 kHz, and a selectable 1.544 MHz or 2.048 MHz VBITS output; frequency ramp control during reference switching; configurable bandwidth filter from .00084 to 1.6 Hz; 3.3 V operation.
