Performance advancements include a new graphical user interface that maximizes ease of use in both production and R&D applications. Signals can now be selected and played with a single key stroke. For fats, automated recall and play in production test applications, signal files are cached and can be externally triggered.
Enhanced signal creation capability has been added to the resident Vector Signal Simulator (VSS) software. The software now offers a broad range of signal creation capabilities, including multi-carrier and multi-format signal environments. Users can create signals using standard formats (WCDMA, CDMA2000, EDGE) or alternatively, create custom signals using multi-tone, PSK, QAM, or I/Q signal descriptions. A "Real Import" feature allows actual field-recorded signals to be replayed from the CS2010 VSG. All signals created with the VSS software can be combined to generate multicarrier, multi0format environments such as those encountered in a 2G to 3G system evolution.
A new High Power Option delivers +14 dBm RMS (up to +27 dBm PEP) across the full frequency range of the VSG. When generating a 4-carrier WCDMA composite signal, the CS2010 VSG boasts ACPR performance of 60 dBc. The ACPR performance is maintained at all output power levels. A Self-Calibration Option allows complete RF path calibration using an external power meter. The deep signal-generation memory (256 MS standard, up to 2 GS optional) provides as much as 23 seconds of unrepeated signal playback from the ultra-linear 14 bit, 93 MS/second DAC.
