ADI's SoftCell chipset solution, which includes the AD9772A, provides a complete transceiver signal chain for software-defined radio architectures. The AD9772A's enhanced on-chip circuitry improves overall signal quality and channel capacity, enabling specification-compliant SoftCell implementations for multi-carrier IS95 and multi-mode (GSM/EDGE) systems, as well as for 3G (cdma2000, WB-CDMA) cellular base stations. The AD9772A features a -10 dB incremental improvement in IMD (inter-modulation distortion) performance and a -6 to -8 dB reduction in PLL (phase lock loop) phase noise over the previous generation. In addition, the new wideband DAC features a 14-bit 2 interpolating DAC with allowable input data rates up to 160 MSPS. The 14-bit AD9772A delivers -75 dB of IMD performance and a 70 dB ACPR (adjacent-channel power ratio) for improved baseband performance. Spectral noise density - a key parameter for broadband spread-spectrum, QPSK and QAM applications, is -155 dBm/Hz.
The AD9772A is packaged in a 48-lead LQFP and operates over the extended industrial temperature range (-40 ° C to 85 ° C).
