Model 7100 is designed for rapid, simple operation. The Model 7100 is a terminating digital wattmeter with an input impedance of 50 ohms. Its single female, N-type input connector enables technicians to make connections and measure RF power quickly and directly, without resorting to complex external sensors, calibration factors, or extraneous cabling. The meter is designed to read CW power levels up to 500 mW continuous, or up to 1 W for 10 seconds, making it ideal for testing many types of consumer wireless products where power output is less than one watt.
The large, easy-to-view 3 1/2-digit liquid crystal display (LCD) eliminates confusion and potential errors from "reading between the lines" and locating decimal points that can result with conventional analog readouts. Four ranges provide sensitive readings up to 1.999 mW, 19.99 mW, and 1999 mW (500 mW maximum) full scale. Basic accuracy is ± 10% of full scale from 10 MHz to 1 GHz, and ± 15% of full scale from 1 GHz to 2 GHz.
Four simple push buttons provide one-touch control of power ON/OFF and all measurement functions. A convenient Hold/Run button freezes readings for later reference. The Meter Zero button instantly returns the display to 0 mW for fast zero adjustment.
The Model 7100's high-impact plastic case is designed for rugged service, while its light weight and compact dimensions are ideal for pocket carrying and handheld operation in the field or on the test bench. Dimensions are 3.5 inches (89 mm) W × 6.3 inches (160 mm) H × 1.8 inches (46 mm) D, and weight is 2 lb. (900 g). Power is supplied by tow, readily obtainable, 9 V transistor batteries.
