MC-DSSS technology increases data transfer rates and is key to effective data throughput of 8 Mbps, between one-and-a-half and two times faster than competing products. is also well-suited for private network applications, given its cost effectiveness."
Wi-LAN's MC-DSSS technology is the most spectrally efficient spread spectrum modulation scheme currently available. MC-DSSS enhances traditional direct sequence spread spectrum technology by employing "multi-code" or pseudo random noise spreading codes. This "multi-code" technology divides data into smaller packets and actually layers the packets allowing for twice the amount of data to be sent in tandem at one time. By employing multi-code, the result is a vast increase in data throughput without an increase in RF spectrum usage ensuring ultimate spectral efficiency.
The Hopper Plus 120-24 wireless Ethernet bridge operates in the license-exempt 2.4 ISM GHz radio frequency band for wireless connections with no radio licensing requirements. The Federal Communications Commission, Industry Canada and the European Telecommunications Standardization Institute has certified the product.
