Direct, Low Latency Connectivity Route between North America and Ireland

Interxion Holding NV announced an agreement with Hibernia Atlantic to host a Point of Presence (POP) for its high-capacity fibre optic cable system at Interxion’s Dublin 2 (DUB2) data centre.

Hibernia’s presence will leverage Interxion’s high-specification infrastructure and diverse customer communities within its financial, digital and cloud hubs. The fibre optic cable system is the only diverse network route linking Europe, the United States and Canada, delivering competitive advantage to Interxion’s customers. The new Hibernia Atlantic link into DUB2 specifically caters to North American corporations in Ireland and foreign investment organisations that require the fastest routes into and throughout Ireland. In addition, it delivers further network diversity and business opportunity to all who colocate with Interxion at DUB2 and to all who can access the Hibernia transatlantic network.

“Hibernia Atlantic's new network deployments, such as this one into Interxion's Dublin facility, further stimulate growth to the region and attract additional investments,” states Fergus Innes, VP of Sales, EMEA of Hibernia Atlantic. “We are proud of our partnership with Interxion and feel that this new POP will add increased connectivity options to its customers based in Ireland and abroad.”

“The fact that this is the only direct, low latency connectivity route between North America and Ireland further reflects our commitment to delivering the best possible connectivity options to our customer base, Hibernia’s high-capacity fibre optic cable system is especially relevant for our digital media community, such as content delivery providers and social media engines, that require high-capacity bandwidth,” said Tanya Duncan, Managing Director of Interxion. “Our secure facilities were specifically designed to support mission-critical applications and IT systems, and Hibernia’s diverse, high-speed connectivity is another true value-add for our clients,” she concluded.

Interxion’s Dublin data centres offer world-class connectivity with access to more than 25 carriers. Its infrastructure delivers the highest levels of redundancy, reliability and standards-based operation, with 2N UPS power, N+1 cooling and advanced alarm and monitoring systems.
