Certified Wireless Security Professional (CWSP) and Certified Wireless Network Expert (CWNE) included in list of IT certifications projected to grow in 2014 by Network World
DURHAM, N.C., Jan. 16, 2014 – Certified Wireless Network Professional (CWNP) has announced two of its certifications for Wi-Fi professionals have been named among the 18 Hot IT Certifications for 2014 by Network World.
Two of CWNP’s certifications, Certified Wireless Security Professional (CWSP), which ensures individuals understand how to securely set up and run enterprise wireless LAN, and Certified Wireless Network Expert (CWNE), which assures that wireless professionals have mastered skills to design, install, configure, administer and troubleshoot wireless network systems, ranked No. 2 and 3 on the list respectively. CWNE has previously been recognized as one of the 10 most difficult designations to earn throughout the entire IT industry.
This list, based on the 2013 IT Skills Demand and Pay Trends Report released by Foote Partners, studies nearly 650 certified and non-certified IT skills, and indicates that the certified skills that seem to be flourishing the most fall into the architecture, engineer, security and database categories. With more companies relying on industry experts for wireless network security, the need for CWSP-certified individuals is projected to grow rapidly in 2014. Network World indicates that premium pay for wireless security professionals is up 35 percent over the last 12 months, 28 percent in the last six months and 20 percent in the last three months.
Likewise, CWNE professionals are also seeing a tremendous spike in premium pay, according to the report. Value and demand for CWNE has increased by 42 percent in the last 12 months, 37.3 percent in the last six months and 30 percent in the last three months. As the highest and most prestigious certification offered under the CWNP umbrella, CWNE recipients have a mastery of the most advanced skills available in today’s enterprise Wi-Fi market.
“CWNP is proud to offer two of the Hot IT Certifications for 2014,” said Brad Crump, president of CWNP. “The spike in demand for certified Wi-Fi professionals is evident, and it is clear that this demand will continue to increase as more and more organizations look to certified professionals to administer and monitor wireless networks. With customers in more than 150 countries and authorized training partners in all major global theaters, CWNP can provide individuals with the skill sets and resources necessary to become marketable and knowledgeable professionals within the IT world.”
