We will aggressively pursue these emerging growth market segments including innovative Smart Grid solutions and next generation public safety networks. We also recognize that there is growing global demand for high quality, cost effective wireless and mobile broadband solutions that have a fast time to market, and we are very well positioned to exploit this significant market opportunity.”

“The market should see NewNet's WiMAX acquisition as a positive sign. This acquisition is a vote of confidence by the vendor in this 4G technology,” said Ovum Principal Analyst, Daryl Schoolar. “Applications still remain for WiMAX deployments such as DSL replacement and specific industry vertical applications like security monitoring. For companies looking to deploy WiMAX, NewNet's acquisition will provide them with another committed supporter of this technology.”

“The team and I are very pleased to have the opportunity to be a part of the NewNet organization and contribute to the evolution of the WiMAX technology and product portfolio,” said Scott Morrison, EVP and President of the Telecom Infrastructure business unit. “NewNet gains a strong position in the WiMAX market with this product portfolio. We will harness the expertise of our highly skilled team to revitalize this proven 4G solution and become a major provider of end to end WiMAX solutions in the market.”

NewNet will be engaging with its existing customers as well as other market leaders to define and deliver a comprehensive roadmap for its WiMAX products.
