INDIANAPOLIS -- (BUSINESS WIRE) -- AOTMP today announced the release of its latest Enterprise Performance Series report entitled “Mobile Device and Application Management.” Representing findings from 172 enterprise professionals across 22 different industries nationwide, the new report provides the most current industry benchmarks for identifying and defining risk associated with mobile device management (MDM) and mobile application management (MAM) deployment adoption.

As the study indicates, a majority of enterprises are at risk in the areas of security, maintenance and troubleshooting.

According to AOTMP, approximately 41 percent of organizations are at full security risk due to a lack of MDM practices, while 71 percent are at maintenance risk, and another 90% are at troubleshooting risk. Considering enterprises are managing more service providers, device models and operating systems than ever before, and that application deployment is increasing 50 percent year-over-year, establishing sound practices is critical.

“Penetration of mobile smart devices in enterprises now equals traditional cell phones, elevating the necessity of mobile device management and mobile application management practices,” says Timothy C. Colwell, senior vice president of global performance management at AOTMP.

“Without proper tools and processes in place, organizations are significantly endangering their security integrity.”

AOTMP’s report provides perspective and benchmarks for managing wireless environments, helping organizations answer key business questions, including:

* What percentage of companies are deploying MDM and MAM practices today?

* What are the areas of potential security, maintenance and repair risk?

* What percentage of companies deploy e-mail, CRM, document viewing, security and softphone applications?
