Meaghan's Minute: Microsoft's New Surface Tablet
Today on Meaghan's Minute, brought to you by Memory Protection Devices:
To add its own flavor to the tablet business, Microsoft has unveiled the Surface, a tablet that allows users to use it more like a laptop or desktop computer.
Featuring a built-in kickstand, the Surface Pro 2 can be used flat on a table, or in someone's lap. It also has a 75 percent improvement in battery life.
According to the Associated Press, the redesigned Surface tablets come at a time of transition for Microsoft, when personal computer sales are falling, and the software giant is trying to become a more diversified software and mobile devices company.
The Associated Press also stated that earlier this month, Microsoft struck a deal to acquire Nokia's handset and services business for $7.2 billion dollars, and the company is searching for a new CEO to replace Steven A. Ballmer, who plans to retire within the next year.
