SICK (Minneapolis, MN) has announced the launch of the CM12 capacitive sensor. The CM12, which is enclosed in an M12 threaded housing, is the only sensor on the market in this housing to offer a teach button, making it ideal for a variety of applications. The two-point teach button – one for maximum sensitivity and one for normal operation – enable easy device setup. In addition, flush and non-flush mounting options as well as automatic PNP/NPN detection are available in a single housing, reducing inventory stock and costs. Features include:

  • Dynamic teach – allows the sensor to ‘learn’ the target.
  • Integrated humidity compensation feature that reduces false trips and switching errors caused by sensitivity to water or humidity.
  • Long sensing range of up to 8 mm.
