Ember-based miniature modules tout desirable ZigBee performance
California Eastern Laboratories (CEL) announced sample availability of its MeshConnect EM357 Mini Modules, powered by the EM357 ZigBee chip from Ember Corporation. Running the EmberZNet PRO ZigBee stack, CEL Mini Modules enable monitoring and control in energy management, smart home, LED lighting and machine-to-machine applications. The company asserts the modules feature the smallest footprint of all Ember-based modules available today. The sharply reduced PCB real estate enables smaller form factors and lower costs while achieving higher performance, according to the company. Low- and high-output powers (+8 dBm and +20 dBm) allow designers to choose radio performance that best suits their requirements. With a highly integrated front end IC, the high-power modules provide a market leading +123 dB link budget.
