Powerwave Answers the Call for Lower OPEX for LTE Networks

Wed, 06/16/2010 - 7:47am
SINGAPORE--(BUSINESS WIRE) -- Powerwave Technologies, Inc. announces its new NetWay Vision™ remote site management solution for 3GPP LTE (Long Term Evolution)™, answering the industry’s call for more cost-effective means of managing today’s next-generation LTE networks.

Today 3GPP/3GPP2 operators are looking to introduce LTE networks with little or no increase in operations and maintenance staff. However, as networks expand potential points of failure and maintenance costs rise exponentially. To this end, the industry is banding together to reduce the maintenance and OPEX overhead of tomorrow’s next-generation LTE networks.

Powerwave’s NetWay Vision for LTE is a complete operations and management (OAM) solution that enables operators to maximize return on investment of LTE wireless infrastructure by enabling network discovery, diagnosis and resolution from a centralized software interface in combination with network-aware hardware.

NetWay Vision for LTE provides tools for fault, configuration, performance and security management for real-time network optimization. The solution allows operators to centrally monitor and manage RF network resources, along with critical auxiliary equipment such as cooling, power systems and on-premises security.

Operators can also adjust cell coverage during peak and off-peak hours, saving time, money and reducing the carbon footprint through fewer truck rolls. The solution also supports Next Generation Mobile Networks (NGMN) Alliance and 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) Self-Organizing Networks (SON) principles, and easily integrates with third-party Operations Support Systems and Network Management Systems, as well as Powerwave’s Network Operations Center, located in Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas, which provides outsourced day-to-day operation, management and support services.
