Vaunix Technology Corporation has announced the introduction of its newest Lab Brick® product line, the LMS series of Synthesized Signal Generators. The first two models released are the LMS-802 and LMS-103 covering 4 to 8 GHz and 5 to 10 GHz respectively. These full-featured signal generators offer low phase noise, 100 microsecond switching time, and 100 Hz frequency resolution. The LMS series extends the capabilities of the Vaunix signal generator portfolio, which are known for their portable size, low power consumption, and Universal Serial Bus (USB) compatibility. The LMS series, like the existing LSG series are compact and easy to use, but they offer more advanced performance and features such as linear frequency sweeping, optional pulse modulation, and internal/external triggering. Each Lab Brick® signal generator measures 4.90 x 3.14 x 1.59 in. (124 x 80 x 40 mm) and weighs less than 1 lb. (0.45 kg). They connect to a host computer by means of a standard USB cable and are controlled via the Graphical User Interface (GUI) software supplied with each unit. They are powered and controlled by means of any USB equipped personal computer (PC) or laptop. They can also be run from battery power or from a remote power supply for non-USB embedded or automated applications.
