NEC is now shipping two new RF switches, the UPG2409T6X and UPG2409TB, available through California Eastern Laboratories (CEL). Both are high power Gallium Arsenide Monolithic Microwave Integrated Circuit Single Pole Double Throw (GaAs MMIC SPDT) switches which have been redesigned to reduce cost. These low cost RF switches are appropriate for WiMAX, Wi-Fi, Automatic Meter Reading, and other wireless applications requiring high RF power handling, high isolation, and low insertion loss. Both switches enable WiMAX mobile stations (CPE) as well as Wi-Fi Access Points for 802.11a/b/g/n home and office networks. These switches are also intended for smart meters used for automatic meter reading and the new electric utility smart grid.
