Dual Digital Pulsers Enhance Ultrasound Imaging

Maxim Integrated Products introduces the MAX4810/MAX4811/MAX4812 dual, high-voltage digital pulsers. Providing a guaranteed 1.3 A (min.) output current, these devices can be independently configured to enable unipolar or bipolar pulsing in high-voltage systems from low-voltage logic outputs. Three logic inputs per channel and two independent ones enable inputs that ensure that the output MOSFETs are turned off to speed ramp times and minimize delays between pulsing modes. To improve image quality, these pulsers use an active-clamping architecture to reduce the second harmonic output, and they allow complete control of each driver's output stage. These pulsers are suitable for applications such as portable ultrasound imaging and industrial flaw detection in which board space and performance are critical.
