Laird Technologies, Inc. announces its LI0201 line of EIA 0201 ferrite chip beads that have a miniature foot-print, making them suitable for advanced hand-held electronic devices such as cellular phones, Bluetooth handsets, PDAs, GPS, MP3 players, digital camcorders and digital cameras. The series offers optimal impedance versus frequency characteristics with low DCR for EMI noise suppression on high-frequency or broadband digital signal lines. The rugged monolithic assembly and 0.6 × 0.3 × 0.3 mm foot-print offers approximately 40% mounting space savings over the existing 0402 products, making these ferrites suitable for dense, compact circuit board construction. Due to an optimal EMI noise filtering effect, the chip beads can be placed close to the EMI source or receptor of the external interface or the internal signal interconnection.
