G2 Microsystems’ G2C547 IEEE 802.11b/g SoC handles Wi-Fi Internet connectivity, active RTLS and wireless sensing capabilities. The 72-pin QFN-packaged component operates in a thin-client architecture for Internet-enabling MCU-based devices, or in a G2-hosted architecture that eliminates the external processor and runs on the G2 CPU. Other offerings include a processor running a TCP/IP stack, EPC Gen 2 capability for RFID/RTLS applications; a sensor interface to measure and monitor motion, temperature and acceleration; and SPI master/slave and SDIO interfaces. A G2C547 evaluation kit is available.
