MEMS Accelerometer Qualifies for Automotive Applications

STMicroelectronics' AIS326DQ three-axis MEMS accelerometer meets AEC-Q100 specifications for automotive applications. The 28-pin QFPN-packaged component presents user-selectable full-scale range of ±2 or ±6 g in all three axes, temperature range from -40°C to 105°C, and 10,000 g shock survivability. The product offers 3.3 V single-supply operation, 1.8 V-compatible I/Os, an SPI/I2C serial digital output supporting direct connection to a MCU, and 12-bit resolution to detect inclination changes as small as 0.1°. Further capabilities include a data-ready signal, and user-configurable inertial wake-up, direction-detection and freefall-interrupt modes, and an embedded self-test routine. The product suits non-safety applications, such as vehicle alarms, tracking and monitoring, black-box systems, seat controls, navigation support and antenna positioning.
