Hittite Microwave's HMC662LC3 GaAS MMIC double-balanced mixer performs in point-to-point and point-to-multipoint radio, test equipment, laboratory and military applications from 6 to 12 GHz. The high-IP3 device functions as an upconverter or a downconverter with optimized balun structures providing up to 42 dB of LO to RF and LO to IF isolation, and 8 dB conversion loss. The 3 mm² ceramic SMT-packaged mixer exhibits an IF bandwidth from DC to 4 GHz while operating with LO drive levels at 17 dBm over a temperature range from -40ºC to 85ºC. The component is fabricated in a GaAs MESFET process, and requires no DC bias, external components or matching circuitry.
