NEC’s high performance UHS4 SiGe:C processing has made possible a family of LNA ICs that combine higher gain with lower noise figures and lower current consumption than ever before possible. The latest addition to the family is the UPC8233TK. Designed for use as an input LNA, its low 0.9dB noise figure helps improve GPS system sensitivity, while its high 20dB gain helps overcome losses associated with external SAW filters. The UPC8233TK operates at 1.7 to 3.3VCC, so it’s suitable for use with new-generation GPS engines.
