Thu, 10/19/2006 - 8:40am

PMC-Sierra, Inc. introduces its third generation Digital Predistortion (DPD) solution that enables wireless infrastructure OEMs and carriers to deploy cost-effective Remote Radio Head (RRH) solutions with capital and operational savings. Offering full software compatibility with the company’s PALADIN® family, the PM7820 PALADIN 20 powers new Doherty power amplifier (PA) architectures to achieve power efficiencies in excess of 40%. In addition, it enables integration into space-constrained RRH architectures through its 23 × 23 mm footprint. Together with PMC-Sierra’s BRIC™ family of standard Common Public Radio Interface (CPRI) baseband to RF interconnects, it provides an end-to-end digital solution for distributed base station architectures and provides 20 MHz of bandwidth for WCDMA, CDMA2000 and WiMAX applications.
