Avago Technologies Begins Operations as World's Largest Privately Held Independent Semiconductor Company
Avago Technologies announces that it has started operations as the world's largest privately held independent semiconductor company. Avago was created as a result of the acquisition of Agilent Technologies Inc.'s Semiconductor Products Group by Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co. (KKR) and Silver Lake Partners in a $2.66 billion transaction announced Aug. 15, 2005.
Ansoft Second Quarter Earnings Double
Ansoft Corporation announces financial results for its second quarter of fiscal 2006 ended October 31, 2005. Revenue for the second quarter totaled $18 million, an increase of 13% compared to $15.9 million reported in the previous fiscal year's second quarter. On a non-GAAP basis, net income for the second quarter was $4.3 million, or $0.34 per diluted share, representing a 103% increase when compared to net income of $2.1 million, or $0.16 per diluted share in the previous fiscal year's second quarter. On a generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) basis, net income for the second quarter was $4.1 million, or $0.32 per diluted share, compared to GAAP net income of $1.9 million, or $0.14 per diluted share in the previous fiscal year's second quarter.

Andrew to Acquire Skyware Radio Systems
Andrew Corporation has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Skyware Radio Systems GmbH of Krefeld, Germany. Under terms of the agreement, which is subject to review by German antitrust authorities, Andrew will pay approximately $9 million in cash, with additional cash consideration possible if certain financial performance goals are reached over a two-year period. Privately-held Skyware generated approximately $12 million in sales during its fiscal 2004. Its products are in use primarily within the Europe, Middle East, and Africa market.
SpaceVest Capital Invests in Privaris
SpaceVest Capital announces a $2.5 million investment in Privaris, Inc. Privaris will use the A round to expand marketing and sales activities, as well as advance the development of its high security technology. Harbert Venture Partners led the $15.7 million round with a $2.5 million investment, with Noro-Moseley Partners and River Cities Capital Funds also participating.

U.S. Air Force Chooses Agilent Technologies Microwave Measurement Equipment for Metrology, Calibration Applications
