Avago Technologies Begins Operations as World's Largest Privately Held Independent Semiconductor Company

Avago Technologies announces that it has started operations as the world's largest privately held independent semiconductor company. Avago was created as a result of the acquisition of Agilent Technologies Inc.'s Semiconductor Products Group by Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co. (KKR) and Silver Lake Partners in a $2.66 billion transaction announced Aug. 15, 2005.


Ansoft Second Quarter Earnings Double

Ansoft Corporation announces financial results for its second quarter of fiscal 2006 ended October 31, 2005. Revenue for the second quarter totaled $18 million, an increase of 13% compared to $15.9 million reported in the previous fiscal year's second quarter. On a non-GAAP basis, net income for the second quarter was $4.3 million, or $0.34 per diluted share, representing a 103% increase when compared to net income of $2.1 million, or $0.16 per diluted share in the previous fiscal year's second quarter. On a generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) basis, net income for the second quarter was $4.1 million, or $0.32 per diluted share, compared to GAAP net income of $1.9 million, or $0.14 per diluted share in the previous fiscal year's second quarter.


WiSpry and Jazz Partner to Create RF MEMS

WiSpry, Inc. and Jazz Semiconductor announce that they have partnered to create innovative RF-MEMS offerings using Jazz’s leading-edge RF-CMOS processes. The program has successfully demonstrated the feasibility of commercially manufacturing WiSpry’s digitally tunable capacitor devices into Jazz Semiconductor’s 200 mm wafer fab and provides commercial availability of highly integrated RF-MEMS devices, built upon Jazz’s leading-edge processes.


ACS Dataline Gains Advantage in Wireless Network Market

Wireless Valley® Communications, Inc. announces that ACS Dataline has adopted its LANPlanner® software as a core component in its wireless network offering. ACS offers a wide range of enterprise turnkey solutions in the areas of voice, data, video and fiber communications and infrastructure. Earlier this year, the company decided to add the implementation of wireless networks to its portfolio. Initially, the company only installed the cable and access points (AP) based on a supplied network design, but soon realized the design had a significant impact on the quality of service delivered by the network.

SK Telecom Signs Trial Agreement with TechnoConcepts

TechnoConcepts, Inc. announces that it has signed a trial agreement with SK Telecom, Ltd. Under the trial agreement, SK Telecom will incorporate TechnoConcepts' True Software Radio™ (TSR™) receiver solution into their communications platform test bed on a trial basis to demonstrate frequency agile network tuning and full digital design based on direct digitization of RF signals (RF/D™).


Andrew to Acquire Skyware Radio Systems

Andrew Corporation has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Skyware Radio Systems GmbH of Krefeld, Germany. Under terms of the agreement, which is subject to review by German antitrust authorities, Andrew will pay approximately $9 million in cash, with additional cash consideration possible if certain financial performance goals are reached over a two-year period. Privately-held Skyware generated approximately $12 million in sales during its fiscal 2004. Its products are in use primarily within the Europe, Middle East, and Africa market.


SpaceVest Capital Invests in Privaris

SpaceVest Capital announces a $2.5 million investment in Privaris, Inc. Privaris will use the A round to expand marketing and sales activities, as well as advance the development of its high security technology. Harbert Venture Partners led the $15.7 million round with a $2.5 million investment, with Noro-Moseley Partners and River Cities Capital Funds also participating.


Data I/O Corporation and Microchip Technology Announce Strategic Marketing Alliance

Data I/O® and Microchip Technology announce that the two companies have completed a strategic marketing alliance agreement for the purpose of further developing their respective and mutual customer bases. Under the terms of the agreement, both companies will direct increased resources for closer customer support at the device level as well as local sales and marketing cooperation.

Sokymat Acquires IMASYS

Sokymat SA announces that it has acquired IMASYS, a German supplier of RFID inlay manufacturing equipment based in Pfronten, which joined the Sokymat Group effective November 1st, 2005. IMASYS is a designer and manufacturer of high frequency (HF) transponder inlay production machines based on the wire-embedding process. IMASYS¹ current goal is to significantly increase the production capacity of its 13.56 MHz RFID inlay manufacturing machines, in order to respond to the tremendous growth of the markets for e-passports and contactless payment cards.

VeriWave Signs Israeli Distributor

VeriWave, Inc. announces that it has signed a distribution agreement with Startronics to resell and support VeriWave's products in Israel.


RFMD Announces Record September Quarterly Revenue

RF Micro Devices, Inc. announces that its September 2005 quarterly revenue will exceed its original guidance, which was provided on July 26, 2005. Based upon its preliminary assessment of its financial results, RF Micro Devices announced its September 2005 quarterly revenue will be approximately $177 million, which exceeds its original guidance for revenue in the low- to mid-$170 million range. RFMD attributes its record September quarterly revenue to both sequential growth and market share gains in the markets for cellular power amplifiers and cellular transceivers.


U.S. Air Force Chooses Agilent Technologies Microwave Measurement Equipment for Metrology, Calibration Applications

Agilent Technologies Inc. announces that it has been awarded a $19.73 million contract by the U.S. Air Force to provide Agilent microwave measuring receivers to the Air Force Metrology and Calibration Lab (AFMETCAL). Agilent also has received a $2.3 million contract to deliver low noise signal generators to the lab.


Aeroflex and Cetecom Spain Sign Global Distribution Partnership
