HPA for Satellite/Radio
TriQuint Semiconductor introduces a high power amplifier for millimeter wave
digital radio and satellite ground terminal applications. This packaged device
allows subsystem integrators to simplify assembly and alignment, thereby decreasing
product complexity and cost. The product is part of a six-member family of HPAs
The TGA4509-SM is a high performance power amplifier in a low parasitic package suited for use in 27 to 31 GHz transmit chains found in VSAT, point-to-point and point-to-multipoint radio applications. The device is also physically small, which allows direct integration with other electronic circuitry elements, minimizing performance impact. Packaging is lead-free, RoHS-compliant, offering customers an environmentally friendly solution with substantial cost and assembly advantages.

The TGA4509-SM provides a combination of power amplifier performance in a convenient surface mount QFN package at Ka-band frequencies. The typical performance of the device is shown in the plot below. The TGA4509-SM compliments the company's power amplifiers (p/n TGA4905-CP and TGA4915-CP). TriQuint provides a complete transmit solution for these millimeter wave applications. All devices are fabricated using TriQuint's MMW pHEMT processes.
