MEMS-Based Switch Filter Bank

Spectrum Microwave introduces a micro-electromechanical system (MEMS)-based amplified switch filter bank that maintains a high linearity over multi-octave bandwidth, with the low current consumption. This system features a low passband noise figure and moderate linear gain. Spectrum’s filter bank is designed for RF and microwave applications that demand minimum steady-state power consumption, where continuous switching is not necessary. The MEMS-based amplified switch filter bank is magnetically self-latching, eliminating the need to consume energy to maintain a selected switch state. The model consists of nine user-selectable RF frequency bands from 20 to 500 MHz. The MEMS filter bank is designed with a filter-amplifier-filter configuration that offers low distortion amplification of the input signal. The unit requires a single +3.3 VDC power supply and can withstand hot switching with a rated lifetime of 100 million cycles. Spectrum’s switch filter bank features nominal signal gain of 15 dB, isolation at < 5 dB.
