Linear Technology announces a family of silicon oscillators, the LTC6905-xxx, generating a fixed frequency clock output from 20 to 133 MHz. These oscillators provide a timing solution for FPGAs, CPLDs, microprocessors and DSPs. The family features a consistent startup (100 us typical), low duty cycle variation (± 2.5%) and power consumption of 12 mA maximum at 100 MHz). The series can operate over the full automotive temperature range ( 40° C to 125° C).The company is also introducing the LTC6906 programmable silicon oscillator, with an low operating current of 18 uA at 100 kHz. The oscillator is a suitable clock chip for portable equipment; the footprint is limited to the LTC6906’s ThinSOT package and a single resistor. No bypass capacitor is required, and these oscillators can be programmed to any frequency between 10 kHz and 1 MHz.
