AccelChip and Photron Technologies announce a digital filter which is the core of Ultra Spectral Modulation technology. USM provides wireless data transmission at rates of 100b/s/Hz (bits per second). AccelChip® DSP Synthesis and AccelWare® DSP cores were used to accelerate the development of the digital filter. A successful end-to-end MATLAB® simulation demonstrating USM’s ability to transmit data at 5 Mb/s through narrow bandwidths of 50 kHz has been completed. USM increases spectral efficiency in wireless applications and provides for high-speed and high-capacity networks at lower cost relative to existing wireless technologies. This technology platform is designed to avoid bottlenecks by providing data transmission channels with high quality and throughput rates.
