Anritsu introduces the MT8220A UMTS Master, a handheld Node B analyzer that brings the advantages of Anritsu’s Spectrum Master to 3G/UMTS applications. Covering the UMTS ranges of 824 to 894 MHz and 1710 to 2170 MHz, as well 2300 to 2700 MHz, the product can conduct both RF and demodulated measurements. In addition, it functions as a spectrum analyzer with continuous frequency coverage up to 7.1 GHz, with best-in-class DANL (Displayed Average Noise Level) of typically 153 dBm at 1 GHz and built-in SMART measurements for easy operation. The analyzer can be used in the field to conduct all the necessary UMTS/W-CDMA RF measurements. A self-calibrating RF front-end and a precision frequency reference ensure that RF measurements are accurate. RF measurements that can be made with the device include adjacent channel leakage power, occupied bandwidth and a spectral emission mask, for analysis of a basestation’s output.
