Star Micronics introduces the SCG-16A dynamic speaker, featuring broad frequency response characteristics, including wide resonant peaks, that allow for the creation of numerous audio tones. The lead-free speaker is designed for mobile communications and hand-held devices. A flat response curve at high sound pressure levels with wide bandwidth allows for ring tones to be heard with deeper and richer tones. Additionally, the playback performance of the speaker allows it to be used for listening to demo music downloaded to mobile phones and other handheld devices. The device has a maximum sound pressure level of 92.5 dB (ۭ dB) at 0.3 W over a distance of 10 cm. Total harmonic distortion is a maximum of 5%, also at 0.3 W. The resonance frequency of the SCG-16A is 780 Hz ± 100 Hz. The speaker measures 16 × 3.2 mm and weighs 1.2 grams.
