Delta Products announces its DCS-1300 High Power Density series converter shelf, designed to help carriers in the migration from 2G wireless networks to 2.5G/3G networks without having to invest in completely new power systems. The shelf converts 2G power systems that operate using +24 V, including GSM, TDMA, and CDMA networks, to the -48 volt operation needed to support equipment for 2.5G/3G technologies such as 1X, EDGE, UMTS, and W-CDMA. It can also be used for applications such as converting a +24 Vdc from a battery plant to a 㫈 Vdc source for powering a mobile-radio cell site. This system offers features including 4U height in 19 inches rack unit, high power density at 9.56 W/in3, and hot swappable modules, making it a suitable choice for an array of indoor and outdoor cabinet applications. The shelf is capable of equipping up to six 㫈 V/24 A converter modules to provide maximum 7.8 KW output power in one shelf. The system provides alarms, messages and comprehensive system controls.
