Anritsu introduces a series of options for its MT8820A radio communications analyzer. The device now supports EDGE/EGPRS and 1xEV-DO, as well measures two phones simultaneously for an improvement in throughput. The analyzer already supports most wireless communications standards, including W-CDMA, CDMA2000 1X, PHS, and PDC. The MX882003A 1xEV-DO measurement software supports transceiver measurements of mobile terminals conforming to 1xEV-DO while the MX882003A-02 software option adds 1xEV-DO external packet data communications measurement capability. The latter option enables packet data transfers between local or network application servers and an Internet-enabled CDMA2000 1xEV-DO terminal via an Ethernet connection to the MT8820A. IP data communications mode is supported as well. Transmission and reception measurements of mobile terminals conforming to EDGE/EGPRS can also be conducted. The MX882001A-11 EGPRS measurement software supports both the MCS1-MCS4 and MCS5-MCS9 coding schemes, which use GMSK and 8PSK modulation schemes, respectively.
