Micrometrics has expanded their spiral inductor chip product line, offering chips with up to 17.5 turns and inductance values reaching 100 nH. The MMI 300 series chips provide an alternative to staking coils. They are dimensionally uniform and each coil is a planar solid structure. The coils are polyamide coated to protect from ambient contaminents. In addition to ruggedness, the substrates also help to reduce dielectric losses. Chips may be attached using either conductive or non-conductive epoxies and and wire bonded with gold wire or ribbon. The inductors are suited for bias injection in oscillators, amplifiers, and microwave switches or bias tees.
