Mon, 03/15/2004 - 9:53am

LISTED UNDER:

Amphenol announces that its Star-Line EX series of electrical connectors has completed ATEX update testing for use in hazardous environments, as defined by the NEC, Article 505. The connectors provide safe interconnections to modular equipment, making them suitable for applications such as onshore and offshore oil drilling, petrochemical refineries, aircraft re-fueling stations, paint spray booth, and other manufacturing and production environments. The Zone 1 rated connectors eliminate hard wiring to terminal blocks enclosed in junction boxes. Set up and tear down is done by simply mating and unmating the connectors. The aluminum connector housings are lightweight and rugged, machined from high-tensile-strength bar stock and finished with a hard anodized coating to 40 points on the Rockwell C scale.
