Technological approaches are a vital part of the effort to address the threats posed by terrorist use of weapons of mass destruction. That is why Dr. Dale C. Klein, Assistant to the Secretary of Defense, Nuclear, Chem, Bio Defense Programs is addressing this very subject at the upcoming Defense Research & Engineering Conference and Exposition (DREX), taking place November 17-20, 2003 at the Marriott Wardman Park in Washington DC.

Dr. Klein's session titled, "Defense Technologies and Weapons of Mass Destruction," will describe several counter-terrorism technology and operational avenues the US is pursuing in its effort to reduce the threats posed by weapons of mass destruction, including attention to how new technology solutions can create new vulnerabilities.

The Defense Research & Engineering Conference and Exposition (DREX), co-located with the Research Development & Design Expo (RD&D) is focused entirely on the engineering of defense systems and the research of advanced defense technologies. Through a stellar lineup of speakers and exhibitors, these events will provided businesses and the government with the tools to efficiently and effectively accelerate product development for the public sector.
