Microlab/FXR announces an improvement to the design of its DC Block with 7-16 mm DIN connectors. It now features 500 W power capability and maintains low loss (< 0.08 dB) over the frequency band 800 to 2,700 MHz. The HR-D36 DC Block is used to prevent the flow of direct current and low frequency current surges along the inner conductor of a transmission line, while permitting the unimpeded flow of RF signals. The unit consists of a length of coaxial line with a distributed series capacitor in the center conductor, which blocks the flow of low frequencies, while passes RF with negligible loss or reflections. In addition, this distributed DC block has a high voltage tolerance of 3 kV. The units are moisture sealed for outside applications, and have hex-style N connectors to allow controlled wrench tightening.
