EDGE/WLAN Special Interest Seminar

Thu, 09/18/2003 - 9:29am
The seminar will be held on October 22 at the upcoming CTIA show in Las Vegas and will include speakers from T-Mobile, Cingular Wireless, TTPCom and Nortel.

The theme of the event is "How Can EDGE & WLAN Technologies Bridge the Gap to 3G?" The seminar is designed to impart knowledge of how EDGE and/or WLAN fit into Operators' pre-3G plans, allow terminal developers to better plan new EDGE and WLAN terminal products and give insight into the key challenges in EDGE/WLAN infrastructure & terminals.

The seminar is directed toward terminal developers aiming at North American markets and others who wish to understand how EDGE & WLAN technologies can be used while we wait for the full deployment of 3G.

Panelists, both GSM operators and technologists, will discuss how 3G services are expected to be a core offering for them in 2004 and how EDGE & WLAN technologies will be deployed in the infrastructure. How will this work? Vendors to the wireless operators may be interested in how this future-view will affect equipment specifications in the coming year. The panel will consist of the following operators and vendors:

Operator Panel:

• T-Mobile – Bruce Cech

• Cingular Wireless – Terry Durand

• AT&T Wireless – TBD

• Asian/European Operator – TBD

Participating EDGE/WLAN Vendors:
