California Micro Devices introduces the CM2500-05QF, a CMOS multiplexer for keypad switches in wireless handsets and other mobile electronics. The CM2500-05QF enables device keys or joystick/roller pads to have dual functionality. The CM2500-05QF is a space-saving replacement for a 5-diode Schottky diode discrete solution while providing low voltage drop of less that 10 mV across the input/output pair. This enables the CM2500 to be used in low voltage applications where supplies operate in the 1.5 V to 2. 7V range. The CM2500-05QF is available in a compact 3-millimeter-square, 16-lead QFN package. The device has "separate" outputs that enable the device to be connected to different sections of the keypad circuit, thus providing design and PCB routing flexibility.
