Tyco Electronics Power Systems announces the Alphatran inverter. The Alphatran inverter uses 3.5 k VA modules capable of an N+1 redundant configuration and is scalable from 3.5 k VA to 21 k VA, providing optimal reliability where future power growth is anticipated. With an input voltage of 48 V DC, output frequency of 50 or 60 Hz and output range of 100 V AC to 240 V AC (selectable via external PC configuration software), the user-selectable voltages and frequencies allow for system flexibility. All inverter modules are packaged into a "hot swap" receiver cabinet, allowing rapid and safe exchange of any component without interruption to the critical load. The inverter contains an integrated electronic static transfer switch that performs a seamless, uninterrupted transfer in the event that DC power is not available.
