NEC Electronics announces a time-triggered protocol (TTP) bus controller ASIC, named TINA. With TTP functionality, the bus controller allows signals to be generated based on time slots rather than on standard external arbitration events. The TTP bus controller undertakes the protocol functions in hardware, thereby improving system performance by relieving the host CPU. The TTP bus controller is ideal for applications in the automotive industry.
