The 8408 is a monolithic, quad 8-bit multiplying DAC CMOS converter with four separate DACs, each with its own reference input and on-board data latches. Data loading into the 8408 is similar to the write cycle utilized in RAM. Common TTL/CMOS inputs, coupled with compatibility with most 8-bit microprocessors such as 6800, 8080, 8085, and Z80, makes the device ideal for both audio decoding and process control.
