Applied Optoelectronics, Inc. announced three new analog 1310-nm lasers. These lasers are designed for analog transmission over the 50 MHz to 860 MHz frequency range. They are also ideal for antenna remoting applications. The DFB-1310-C5-2-A is a single-mode laser designed for CATV forward path. The DFB-1310-C5-2-A2 is a single-mode laser designed for CATV return path and antenna remoting applications. Both lasers feature low RIN and a high side-mode suppression ratio. The FP-1310-C5-1.8-A is a cost effective alternative for intermediate-reach and short-reach, single-channel applications. The devices are offered in hermetically sealed, coaxial fiber pigtailed packages, utilizing the TO-56 form factor. They are designed to be pin-compatible with industry-standard coaxial modules. The devices require a low operating current at high temperatures and feature a high side-mode suppression ratio across a wide range of operating conditions.
