Devices utilizing this process meet the wide-bandwidth, low jitter and skew requirements of SONET OC-48 to OC-192 systems, 10/100-Gigabit Ethernet, and 2× Fiber Channel systems. Micrel is currently beta-sampling its first product from the GigaPro family, a 10 Gbps buffer/receiver. The SY58016 differential CML buffer is scheduled for production release in Q1'02. Key features for this buffer include a 3 dB bandwidth >7GHz, 45 ps maximum rise/fall time, less than 1.5 ps RMS jitter, and internal 50-ohm termination.
The SY58016 is available in a 16-pin (3 × 3 mm) MLF package or die form. Operation is guaranteed from a 3.3 V +10% power supply over the 40°C to +85°C industrial temperature range.
