California Eastern Labs introduced a new, miniature OSA (Optical Subassembly) from NEC designed specifically for use in SFF (Small Form Factor) and SFP (Small Form Pluggable) transceiver modules. The OSA combines a 3.8 mm diameter 1310 nm Fabry Perot laser with an industry-standard LC connector sleeve. The miniature size also helps SFF/SFP designers significantly reduce the size of their modules. Feature Highlights include a unique fiber stub design that prevents back reflection, 㫀°C to 85° temperature stability, and models for OC3, OC12 and OC48 transmission.
